HIROTEC AMERICA Honored by General Motors as a 2011 Supplier of the Year
Auburn Hills, MI., March 20, 2012 – HIROTEC AMERICA, Inc. and HIROTEC MEXICO, members of the HIROTEC Group, announced today that it is the proud recipient of the 2011 General Motors’ Supplier of the Year Award. Katsu Uno, HIROTEC AMERICA’s Chairman and CEO, and Shin Nishida, HIROTEC MEXICO’s Executive Officer accepted the award on March 12th at the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, Michigan.
The winners represent GM’s view of the best the automotive industry has to offer in innovative technology, superior quality, outstanding launch support, crisis management and competitive total enterprise cost solutions. “The Supplier of the Year award winners’ partnership, dedication and commitment to consistently perform above expectations played an important role in GM’s success in 2011,” said Bob Socia, Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992 to recognize the significant contributions of GM suppliers. This year, out of over 20,000 companies, General Motors recognized 82 of its best global automotive suppliers representing 13 countries.
Since 2000, the global HIROTEC Group has been the proud recipient of seventeen ‘Supplier of the Year’ awards from General Motors. Specifically; this is the eighth for HIROTEC AMERICA and seventh for HIROTEC MEXICO.
